He started his professional career in 1980 as a professional soldier. He worked in various technical positions at the Military Academy in Brno and the anti-aircraft missile brigade in Jihlava. He graduated from the Military Academy in the field of military technology. In 1990 he was recruited to the Research Institute 070 in Brno as a researcher. He was engaged in the field of radiation protection and dosimetry of ionizing radiation and automated monitoring and reconnaissance systems. He completed his doctoral studies in the field of WMD protection.
At the Institute and its successors, he worked as a researcher and senior researcher – head of department. In 2018, he was appointed Director of the Military Research Institute.
